POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES IN:
(1) Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in:
(i) Human Nutrition and Dietetics
( ii) Human Nutrition and Food Science
(2)Master of Science (M.Sc.)
and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Human Nutrition
with specialization : in:
( i) Community Nutrition
(ii)Public Health Nutrition and
(iii) Human Nutrition and Food Science
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates seeking admission for the:
(1)*Postgraduate Diploma in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and Human Nutrition and Food Science must have any of the following qualifications from recognized institutions:Higher National Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics and Food Science and Technology with a minimum of lower Credit.Third Class or pass Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing or Food Science and Technology.
Minimum of pass in Higher National Diploma (HND) plus five (5) years cognate experience.
Minimum of pass degree with three (3) years cognate experience.
Registered Nurse plus Midwife (double qualifications) with three (3) years post qualification experience in place of NYSC)and in addition to five (5) O’level requirements including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English ( at not more than two sittings).
Candidates seeking admission for the:
(2) Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree programme in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and Nutrition and Food Science must have any of the following qualifications from recognized institutions:Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science and Management, Food Science and Technology and related biological science with a minimum of second class lower degree.Post graduate diploma (PGD) with a minimum CGPA of 3. 50, in Nutrition and Dietetics or Food Science and Nutrition in addition to satisfying University matriculation requirements.
Candidates seeking admission for the:
(3) Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Degree Programme in Nutrition and Dietetics, and Nutrition and Food Science must have any of the following qualifications from recognized institutions:
Master of science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science and Technology or Food Science and Nutrition with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 in addition to satisfying university matriculation requirements.
MODE OF STUDY
The mode of study is by course work, seminars and project report/dissertation/thesis.
DURATION
(1)*The*Postgraduate* Diploma* Programme* shall run for a minimum duration of two (2) semesters and maximum of three (3) semesters.
(2) The Full-time
Master of Science Degree Programme in Nutrition and Dietetics, and Nutrition and Food Science shall run for a minimum duration of four (4) semesters and maximum of six (6) semesters.
The Part-time
Master of Science Degree Programme. in Nutrition and Dietetics, and Nutrition and Food Science shall run for a minimum duration of six (6) semesters and maximum of eight (8) semesters.
(3) The Full-Time
Doctor of Philosophy Degree Programme in Nutrition and Dietetics, and Nutrition and Food Science shall run for a minimum duration of six (6) semesters and maximum of eight (8) semesters.
The Part-time
Doctor of
Philosophy Degree Programme shall run for a minimum duration of eight (8) semesters and maximum of ten (10) semesters
