Center of Innovation in Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards (CIPESS) is a World-Bank assisted center of excellence established at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.

CIPESS will be funded by World Bank for a 5-year period in the first instance under the Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement (SPESSE) project. The SPESSE project aimed at enhancing sustainable human capacity development in procurement, environmental and social standards in the public and private sectors in Nigeria and its region to support governance, increase transparency, competition, equal opportunity, sustainability, and environmental and social standards and management.

This will be done through training, professionalization and research in procurement, environmental and social standards. Furthermore, the Center will leverage to a great extent on information and communication technology (ICT) and collaborations with international and national partners to train its students in (i) short executive certificate courses, (ii) advanced certificate courses, (iii) post-graduate diplomas, (iv) B.Sc. and (v) M.Sc.
