FROM THE DESK OF THE HEAD OF DEPARTMENT
I earnestly thank the Almighty God who brought us (both staff and students) all together in this Department as members of big, happy family. I welcome the students back from the very short first semester holidays. I wish to remind us that the short nature of it was for the benefit of all. I particularly welcome the first year students who are just very new in the experiences of campus life. I strongly advice that they remain focused and never to allow the myriads of side attractions of campus life mislead them. After all, not all that glitters is gold. Remember to hold onto Christ as the author of year life. On our own we can do nothing, but Christ in us is the hope of glory. Take membership of an approved Christian fellowship on campus to enrich year selves with the true word of God.
The Department of Agricultural Education is also blessed with a crop of committed and caring staff who are always ready to guide students when necessary. Note that we are servants. All students should take advantage of the conducive academic environment offered by the Department to actualize their dreams. To the old students, I hope you are back with a renewed vigor and determination to accomplish more than ever in your academic pursuit. You all need to reposition yourselves to avoid academic shipwreck.
To the academic staff, I know that the remarkable structural development which elevated ours to the status of a statutory department on the 26th August, 2006 has placed on us enormous responsibilities. Looking at the caliber of staff in the Department, I am rest assured that we are certainly able to deliver the goods.
I enjoin all students of the Department of diligently consult this Handbook from time to time for guidance. It contains the necessary information for your smooth academic progress
Dr. Idoko, J.A.
