Prof. Richard Anande Kimbir, a Professor of Mathematics and currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration.  A member, Nigerian Mathematics Society (NMS) and member, Nigerian Mathematics Association of Nigeria (MAN).

Born on the 10th February, 1958 in Tse-Kimbir, Katsina Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.  Schooled variously at R.C.M. Primary School, Angough (1966), St. Michael’s Secondary School, Aliade (WASC/1977), University of Jos, Jos (B. Sc. Hons. Mathematics/1982), University of Jos, Jos (M. Sc. Mathematics/1987, University of Ibadan (Ph.D Mathematics/1997).

 Prof. Kimbir picked up appointment as a Graduate Assistant with the University of Technologyt, Makurdi in December 1983 which has metamorphosed to the present Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi and rose through the ranks.  By October 2002 he became an Associate Professor and was promoted to the full rank of a Professor in October 2005.

 Professor Kimbir has served in various sensitive positions and committees in the University including; Deputy Dean, College of Science, Agricultural and Science Education, Dean of the same College, Head of Department at various points, Senate member, Member, University Governing Council, Director, Directorate of Academic Planning etc.

 Prof. Kimbir is a devout Christian and a knight of Saint Mulumba in the Catholic Faith and is happily married and blessed with six (6) children.


John Adisa Ayoade (Professor of Small Ruminant Production and Management, Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM) since 1st October, 1994 and presently Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) of the University.

 Born 29th November, 1950 and married with four children.

Hails from Abeokuta South Local Government Area. Ogun State, Nigeria.


 Has his First School Leaving Certificate from St. Stephen’s School, Inalende, Ibadan in 1963, West African School Certificate from Baptist High School, Iwo in 1968 and 1970 respectively.

Has B. Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, University of Ibadan, 1974, Ph.D Agriculture Biochemistry (University of Nothingham, England) 1981.

Helen Nguper Nyitse, FPA, MNIM, MANUPA was born to the family of late Mr. Christopher Iorhuna Agum, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police and Mrs. Martina Maashin Agum of Vandeikya Local Government and is the tenth child out of eighteen children.

She started schooling at an early age, having successfully passed through Primary and Secondary school, Mrs. Nyitse subsequently obtained a B.Sc Sociology Degree at Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, Sokoto State in 1986 and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the Benue State University Makurdi in 2008 Mrs. Nyitse also holds a Diploma in Computer Studies. She is a member of many Professional Associations including; Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Nigerian Institute of Management, and is a Fellow of Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (IPAN).

Mrs. Helen Nyitse joined the services of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi in 1989 as an Administrative Assistant and rose through the ranks to the position of a Deputy Registrar, a position she held until her appointment as the Registrar of the University.

The Registrar, born in a family rooted in Administration, is one among five Administrators produced by the family. They include; Late Ambassador Emmanuel Agum, former Managing Director, Benue Cement Company Plc; Dr. Mrs. Judith Saor (rtd), Deputy Registrar, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Mr. Paul Agum, Deputy Registrar, Benue State University, Makurdi and Mrs. Doofan Akaayar, an Information Officer with Benue State Government.

Mrs. Helen Nyitse in her quest to succeed and bring the desired change as the Registrar of the University has a fascinating mission thus:

“To develop and build a formidable work force/team for enhanced/improved service delivery”.

As a devoted Christian, Mrs. Helen Nyitse clings to the orthodox philosophy “with God all things are possible”

The Registrar, Mrs. Helen Nyitse is married to Dr. Gabriel Tivlumun Nyitse, a retired Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration, Benue State Government and a political icon in Benue State. They are blessed with lovely children.



 Born on March 15th, 1963 in Ipav, Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, Mr. Iannah started his early education in 1971 at NKST Primary School Uchu, Ipav in Gboko and continued at Commercial College Gboko, Benue State in 1977, where he obtained the West African Certificate in 1982.

 That very year, he proceeded to Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo for National Diploma (OND) in Accounting which he obtained in 1984.  He went ahead to Kaduna Polytechnic and got his Higher National Diploma (HND) also in Accountancy in 1987.  He bagged a Master of Science Degree from the Benue State University Makurdi in 2002.

 Mr. Iannah began his working experience during his 3 months Industrial Attachment at the Federal sub-treasury Abuja in 1984.  He proceeded to his one year NYSC Mandatory assignment at the Ministry of Finance at Akure, after which, he joined the services of the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi as Accountant II in 1989.  He served in many capacities and because of his commitment, he was elected to represent congregation on the governing council of the University from 2005 – 2012.  He also served as member Council Committee to produce ceremonial gowns for the Visitors, Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Council members and Principal Officers of the University and also member, Council/ASUU UAM joint committee on the dispute on contributory pension scheme.

 Due to his outstanding academic performance and meritorious services to humanity, Mr. Iannah has received numerous awards, prizes and distinctions such as Award of Best Graduating student at HND level (CABS) Kaduna Polytechnic 1987, Honoured by Ipav Community Development Association and at Benue Polytechnic, Ugbokolo in 1984.  He rose to the rank of Deputy Bursar in 2005 and by 2012, he was appointed a Director in the Bursary Division as well as the University Bursar.

 He is a member of several professional bodies and has attended several conferences and workshops.

 He is happily married to Mrs. Sewuese Iannah and the marriage is blessed with four (4) children.



Ugah, Akobundu Dike, Ph.D, the University Librarian was born on 24th November, 1958 at Ibadan.  He hails from Amawom Oboro, Ikwuano LGA of Abia State.


From Methodist Central School, Amawom Oboro where he started his school and got his First School Leaving Certificate in 1971, young Akobundu went through Evangel (Community) High School, Old Umuahia for his W.A.S.C (1976), University of Ibadan, Ibadan for a Diploma in Librarianship (1985), Ahmadu Bello University Zaria for Bachelor in Library and Information Technology (1995), Imo State University, Owerri, for Master in Library Science (2004) and University of Uyo, Uyo for his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Library and Information Science (2009).


His robust work and research experiences span from 1986 to date, with him occupying various positions at various times, rising steadily from Library Officer, Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, October 1986 – September 1988 through the ranks to the position of Deputy Librarian.


In the course of this, he also worked as Assistant Librarian (Academic) Librarian II and Librarian I all at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.


During this period, he held several positions and responsibilities, which include among others:

Versatile Dr. Ugah has up to 30 publications to his credit, yet finds time for community service, golf playing as well as reading and writing.


He is a widower with 5 children.
